520 Toll and Commute Options...
If your daily commute includes crossing the SR 520 Bridge, you are probably aware that tolling will begin on the bridge this spring. However if you live or work in Redmond, did you know that you have several free resources offering you options to paying the toll?
Ride the bus for free
There are 7 Redmond bus routes crossing 520 hundreds of times a day. Get a free 3-month ORCA card from R-TRIP and try commuting by bus for free.
Bike and bus
Ride your bike to the bridge and catch a bus to cross. Get on/off at the Evergreen and Montlake Freeway stations and cross for free.
Carpool
Share the ride, the gas and the toll by carpooling. Use R-TRIP’s myRidematch to find a partner who lives and works near you. Or try dynamic real-time ridesharing using your smart phone through Avego.
Vanpool
Skip the toll and join a vanpool. The monthly fee includes the van, gas, insurance, roadside assistance and maintenance. Get $50 a month for 6-months from R-TRIP or become a driver and earn another $100. Current vanpool participants can earn $35 each time they refer a new rider.
