Overlake Area Single-Family Neighborhood Plan Update

The neighborhood planning process for the single-family area of the Overlake neighborhood commenced in 2007.  Residents of this area provided feedback regarding the proposed neighborhood plan during January 2010.  Redmond’s Planning Commission plans to continue review of the proposed policies and regulations through July 2010.  Thereafter, the City Council will review and subsequently adopt the neighborhood-specific guidelines.

As an established neighborhood, the Overlake plan includes policies that speak to additional housing types while maintaining the single-family character, greater opportunities for maintaining and establishing vegetation and increasing mobility choices such as connections for residents to walk, bicycle and commute throughout the neighborhood.

To learn more, please review the neighborhood website, attend a Planning Commission meeting on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday evenings of the month (www.redmond.gov/insidecityhall/boards/planning.asp), or contact Kimberly Dietz at 425-556-2415 or kdietz@redmond.gov.
