Bring the whole family to play the Sonic Forest, a large, interactive sound and light sculpture created by artist/architect, Christopher Janney. The sculpture is one of Janney’s urban instruments played when people wave their hands in different places on the sculpture. If you are a musician, you are welcome to come with your instrument and jam with the sculpture and everyone else who comes to play. If you aren’t a musician now, you will become one when you enter the forest!

Arts Festival
Jan. 15th and 16th, 2010
Join us at the Redmond Digital Arts Festival, January 15 and 16 for an exciting exploration of digital art, video games, musical composition and interactive arts. Watch as the artists at Digital Double use motion capture technology to create animated characters (if you wear black, they might animate you!) or take a workshop from a seasoned animator or game designer at the DigiPen Institute of Technology.
Ben Camarano, Art Director at Microsoft Game Studios, will show you how video games are produced and Ed Fries, owner of Figure Prints, will show how he makes the World of Warcraft characters come alive with three-dimensional printing.
Soul Food Books will host a Mixed Reality Musical Jam with a concert in Redmond and on Second Life, with interaction between the two.
There will be games to play, lessons from the King of Kong, Steve Wiebe, and a great time for everyone. Details are posted on redmondartsfestival.com.
