Ananda Mela Festival: A Joyful Festival of India
Redmond City Hall Campus
June 26-27
Vedic Cultural Center, in partnership with many Indian-American Associations, is hosting a free two-day outdoor festival of India to Redmond’s residents and visitors. The festival, titled Ananda Mela: A Joyful Festival of India will take place at the Redmond City Hall campus on Saturday June 26 and Sunday June 27, from 12 noon to 9 pm.
Ananda means ‘bliss’ and mela means ‘festival’. The festival will show the colorful heritage of India in an enticing, educational and fun festival for the whole family. There will be many artists performing popular, folk and classical forms of Indian music and dance.
The festival also includes magic shows, cooking demonstrations, arts and crafts, strolling musicians, educational games, fun rides for kids, exotic Indian cuisine, astrology, yoga, informational booths and many more fascinating exhibits.
The culminating event on both festival dates will be a 2 hour free concert on the main stage by the contemporary band and dance group Dehli2Dublin. This group featurs catchy melodies and rhythms of India and Irish River dance!
