2010 Earth Day Restoration Event

Come celebrate Earth Day by planting a native tree or shrub and helping to enhance habitat at in an urban forest next to Westside Park.

The City provides tools, gloves, water, light snacks (probably bagels), instruction and lots of gratitude.  Dress for the weather and be prepared to get dirty.  Groups are welcome, but please call and let us know if a large group is coming.

All participants must sign a waiver before working—those under 18 require guardian’s signature. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Want to get involved in how Redmond addresses environmental issues?
Stormwater is the major source of pollution in Redmond’s creeks, Lake Sammamish, and the Sammamish River.  Redmond is currently seeking public input (your input) on Redmond’s plan to address stormwater regulatory requirements.  The State of Washington requires all cities with populations over 1,000 people meet specific stormwater management requirements.  Redmond has developed a document, titled Redmond’s Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP), to specifically address Washington State requirements. 

Review the SWMP, get instructions on submitting comments, and City contact information.
